What the symptoms may tell you
A phone that rings, vibrates or is recognised by a computer may still be running behind a dark display. No sound or response can point to charging, battery or other faults instead.
Safe checks to try first
- 1Try a known-working compatible charger and allow time for a flat battery to respond.
- 2Follow Apple's model-specific force-restart steps; a force restart does not erase data.
- 3Call the phone from another device and note sounds, vibration or notifications.
What to avoid
Do not repeatedly reset or restore a phone containing unbacked-up data just to test the screen.
Next step
Tell me the model, what happened before the screen went dark, and whether the phone rings or vibrates. Diagnosis comes before a display quote.
What I can help with
Display replacement may be possible. Board faults and data recovery are outside the advertised service.
