1. Confirm the device and the work
Send the exact model and your postcode, plus a short description of the fault or upgrade. A model name from device settings, its box or a model label is helpful. Avoid sending a full serial number or a photo containing personal information unless specifically needed later.
Tell me about previous repairs, liquid exposure and any faults that already exist. You must own the device or have the owner’s authority. I check suitability, parts and any calibration requirements before accepting the job.
2. Check your written booking confirmation
Your confirmation should identify the work, part and grade, known limitations, total price including travel, appointment, payment method and relevant policies. Your booking is confirmed in writing; sending a website enquiry does not reserve a slot.
Visits are available seven days by agreement. The aim is within 36 hours of confirmation, subject to parts and availability. The confirmed appointment is what we agree to.
If you want work during an applicable cancellation period, I ask separately for your express early-start request. General acceptance of a quote is not a substitute for this. Read the cancellation policy and form.
3. Make and check a backup
Back up important information before the visit and check that the backup completed. For iPhone iCloud backups, Apple explains how to make a manual backup and see its date and time. If a damaged device prevents a backup, tell me before booking so we can discuss the options.
For laptop work, keep a separate copy of important files. Cloning a drive is not a substitute for a backup. For consoles, check the manufacturer’s supported save and capture backup options.

4. Keep passwords and recovery keys private
Do not send passcodes, account passwords or recovery keys through the quote form, WhatsApp or Messenger. Be available to unlock the device yourself for agreed checks. For an encrypted laptop, make sure you can retrieve and enter the recovery key if it is needed.
Do not erase or reset your device, switch off security features or sign out of accounts just because you have booked a visit. Any necessary access or data-changing step is discussed for your repair. Cloning, formatting, deletion and reinstalling need specific authorisation.

5. Prepare a suitable place to work
Provide a clean, stable, well-lit table, with power where needed. Keep children, pets, food and drinks clear of the work area. Have the charger and accessories relevant to the fault available. A console upgrade needs access to its display and controller for testing.
Tell me about access arrangements before arrival. If a device has a swollen battery, unusual heat or other damage that could make work unsafe, contact me first instead of treating it as a standard appointment.
6. Arrival, payment and handover
I inspect the device and reconfirm the work and total before taking full payment and starting. Cash or an agreed available Stripe method is accepted. If the diagnosis or price changes, I ask you first. Standard bookings need no deposit; any costly-part advance is agreed separately in writing.
We record relevant condition checks, any tests that cannot be completed, and the agreed work. Condition photographs need permission and are not permission to use your device in marketing.
At handover, check the agreed functions together and keep the payment receipt and work record. Tell me before work starts if you want old parts returned; removed batteries are retained for appropriate disposal, as explained in the terms.

Need to rearrange?
Contact me through the same WhatsApp or Messenger conversation and include your appointment details. The launch cancellation policy allows free cancellation before appointment work begins, including refunding parts advances. Use a clear message; the cancellation form is optional.
