What the symptoms may tell you
Warmth during charging or demanding use differs from sustained unusual heat. A lifting screen, bulging case, chemical smell or damaged battery needs a safety-first assessment.
Safe checks to try first
- 1Stop the demanding activity and let an intact phone cool in a normal indoor environment.
- 2Disconnect charging if the device is unusually hot and move it away from flammable materials if safe.
- 3Describe any swelling, drop, liquid exposure or change in charging behaviour before requesting a visit.
What to avoid
Do not puncture, compress, heat, freeze or try to flatten a swollen battery. Do not keep charging it.
