Wet iPhone or liquid alert

Reduce further risk after a spill, submersion or charging liquid alert.

See safe first checks

What the symptoms may tell you

Water resistance can decline with wear or earlier repairs. A phone that appears to work immediately after a spill may still develop faults later.

Safe checks to try first

  1. 1Disconnect cables and move the phone to a dry area; follow Apple's model guidance for the alert.
  2. 2If safe, turn off a visibly wet or malfunctioning device and note the liquid and time of exposure.
  3. 3Check that a backup exists before considering any later repair or replacement.

What to avoid

Do not charge while wet, use rice or external heat, insert objects in the connector, or repeatedly power-cycle a failing phone.

Next step

Describe the exposure and symptoms before any appointment. Important data may warrant a specialist recovery assessment.

What I can help with

Liquid-damage recovery and board cleaning are outside the advertised repair service.
