What the symptoms may tell you
'Plugged in, not charging' can be normal charge limiting on some models. No charging light, intermittent power or a hot connector needs a different assessment.
Safe checks to try first
- 1Confirm the adapter is the correct type and wattage and try a known-working socket.
- 2Inspect the cable and connector for visible damage without moving a loose port repeatedly.
- 3Check the manufacturer's battery-health or charging-limit setting where available.
What to avoid
Stop using a damaged charger or a laptop with swelling, unusual heat or a lifting trackpad.
Next step
Send the model, charger type, battery message and whether it runs on adapter power alone.
What I can help with
Battery replacement is model-checked. USB-C or board-level charging work may require a specialist.
