What the symptoms may tell you
No light, a brief light then shutdown, and a normal power light with no picture are different cases. The last case may be a display issue rather than a power fault.
Safe checks to try first
- 1Check the outlet and external cable for visible damage, using only the correct lead.
- 2Disconnect unnecessary accessories and note any light, beep or fan response.
- 3If the console powers normally but shows no image, follow the HDMI guide instead.
What to avoid
Do not open the power supply or repeatedly power a device with liquid damage, burning smell or visible electrical damage.
